Line break system

Fahlke offers two systems for detecting installation leaks.

Both systems – electric and pneumatic – provide total safety in the event of a leak in the piping system by automatically overrunning all actuators connected to the system into an safety position. This prevents any damage or accident caused by an uncontrolled gas leak.

The LBC pneumatic system is mounted directly on the actuator controls units or on customer’s request assembled in a separate stainless steel control box. The LBC system is connected directly to the monitored pipeline and continuously controls the pressure in the pipes and when the pressure drop exceeded the set range automatically overrides the actuators to a safe position and cut off the incoming gas on the damaged section.

LBCp is developed and built in Fahlke MCE modular technology.

The advantages of the LBCe electronic system are the ability to indicate, transmit and warn in the event of a leak, and also a battery power supply. Pressure measurement in the pipeline takes place via a relay that identifies and transmits error information.

The Fahlke Line Break LBCe system is independent even in the absence of power, continues to operate for several weeks and reports any distortion to SCADA remote sensing (remote measurement).

Due to the low energy intake, this system can be powered by a small solar panel. As with the pneumatic system, when the pipeline is damaged and the pressure is down, the system overrides all the connected accutators to switch to a safe position.
